Guatemala Conquers the World: Villa Bokéh and Casa Palopó Receive the MICHELIN Keys

In a night that will go down in the history of Guatemalan tourism, Villa Bokéh and Casa Palopó received in Paris the most coveted recognitions in global hospitality: the MICHELIN Keys.

Villa Bokéh, the hidden estate nestled among Antigua’s volcanoes, earned two MICHELIN Keys. Casa Palopó, the colorful and art-filled retreat overlooking Lake Atitlán, received one MICHELIN Key. Both properties, part of Grupo Alta, are the first in Guatemala — and among the first seven in Central America — to receive this prestigious honor.

Chef Jorge Peralta, trained in some of the world’s best restaurants — including Paco Roncero’s two-MICHELIN-starred establishment — returned to Guatemala with one mission: to show that Guatemalan cuisine deserves a place in the global conversation.
